Mi Mye are sometimes lots of people but on this track they are just Jamie Lockhart from the far north cost of Scotland, who now resides in Wakefield (the centre of indie pop in England) and Emily Ingham who is from just outside Wakefield (the centre of indie pop).
This new track “I dwell in the stories of I can hear you calling”, is a misunderstanding of Jamie’s memory of pop facts, and is based on the story of Phil Colins watching someone not saving someone from drowning, and Jamie thinking the song was called “I can hear you calling” which it isn’t, that’s a Fleetwood Mac song which if you ask Jamie to sing to you he can’t, he has no memory of that song at all, but he is pretty sure that if he was watching someone not saving someone from drowning he also probably wouldn’t save them either, not because he would want the person to drown but more because of the social infrastructure of the group dynamic.
