Faith Eliott (they/them) is a visual artist and alt-folk musician based in Glasgow, UK.

"I wrote the song ‘Box Elder’ after a stint living in Montana. My partner-at-the-time’s dad had a very elaborate model Christmas Village that he would meticulously assemble each December. It would take up half of their living room with streets lined with cotton-wool snow, shops and a little mirror ice rink. When the relationship ended, I was heading back to Scotland and looking at the world in miniature from a plane window. The song combines these different images as a sort of metaphor for how we often construct idealised narratives around a relationship and end up prioritising those fantasies and expectations over really seeing the person we are with.”
