"I’ve always wanted to write an “educational” album. I grew up listening to my mum’s record of ‘Nature Songs’ by Marais & Miranda, the legendary post-war balladeers who brought us unrivalled classics such as ‘What does a Bird Have That I Have Not?’ and ‘How is Silk Made?’. I’ve always admired the succinct and joyful way they convey scientific ideas via the medium of song.

So, I dedicated my write-an-album-in-a-weekend challenge to the same noble pursuit. I chose the topic ‘How Colour Works’. My attempt came out a little like Marais & Miranda covered by early Bright Eyes, but you can expect to be fully confident on the anatomy of the eye and how it processes light by the time you finish listening."
